Statistics for Teaching Science: Part 1 Measuring and Reporting Uncertainty
August 27, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am EDT
$45.00All measurements include some degree of uncertainty or error, but how it is reported is decided by the person collecting the data. Because analysis is dependent on the data collected, the method used to report error can substantially impact the strength of the claims made and conclusions drawn. In this workshop, we will explore five ways uncertainty is described using different common measuring tools. We will practice making decisions about the method that is most appropriate in different situations and defend our choice to our peers with evidence and reasoning.
This 1.5-hour online, interactive Zoom workshop is open to math and science teachers of all grade levels.
