Teaching High School Biology Online: Part 3 Genetics Unit Topics

In this series, we will rework one unit of the biology curriculum each session with a goal of stripping down the content and skills to create a list of priorities in case students are working online when this unit is taught. As a group of peers, general level, Pre-AP, AP, and IB teachers will rank the syllabus items commonly taught in this unit and discuss the reasoning for their choices. We will share resources and ideas for effectively covering essential topics in a remote learning environment using engaging, interactive methods. Although each of us will have different demands and constraints, the opinions and advice of experienced teachers from around the country will be a good sounding board for contingency proposals as you create a map for how to proceed in 2020-21.
